Senior Field Service Engineer

New York - Thursday at 15:00: happy faces with the commissioning of the fast charge station for 40 electric buses. Satisfied, you pack up your kit and you board a plane home; you just helped another city to get purer air! You are responsible for installation, testing, maintenance and repair of our cutting edge, fast charging solutions for electric buses, trucks and other heavy duty transport solutions. Heliox is currently market leader and is always innovating, so you will work with the newest technologies for fast chargers.
As our newest Senior Service Engineer, you pioneer our service organization, you perform preventive & corrective maintenance, plus you drive and support commissioning activities for Heliox Automotive products - across the United States (focus on eastern North America).
Main job tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide on-site commissioning activities, including Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Provide preventive and corrective maintenance as needed.
- Provide on-site training to customers and colleagues.
- Diagnostics of failures in case of abnormal product performance.
- Update and enhance service documentation.
- Assist with coordination of necessary service activities.
- Prepare the necessary tools, materials, documentation, permits, travel arrangements and briefings as needed.
- Keep record of all service activities conform company procedures.
- Support development with deployment, testing, and feedback of new products.
- Provide first line of company-support in case of technical product issues.
You will work closely with our software and hardware engineers and other colleagues; so you are not on your own in this! Together we make our products and services a success!

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer who has worked with medium to high voltages. You like to share your knowledge and experience with customers, installation parties and with colleagues.
You are an ambitious professional who likes to initiate, deploy and work in a broad perspective. You are flexible and customer minded, and you feel right at home in a dynamic, international organization. You think in solutions, not in problems. You always strive for the desired result by finishing your tasks and by standing for a high level of quality.
You never lose sight of our customers and (y)our safety standards and work accordingly.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electronical or mechanical engineering technology.
- Experience with electrical installations.
- Experience with troubleshooting invertors, electronics, wiring, and cooling systems.
- Experience with serial communication and tools (CAN, EtherCAT, RS485, RS 232, etc.).
- Knowledge of safety regulations (NFPA 70E, OSHA).
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Adept at using computers.
- Adept at reading circuit schematics.
- Fluent in English language.
- Customer oriented.
- Proactive and self motivated.
- Solid verbal & written communication skills.
- Stress tolerant.
